It’s a paraphrase I’ve heard often used to put down sex workers. It’s sugar coated to sound like a compliment, but in reality, it’s just ignorance. You, as a person, are priceless. You may sell sex, nudity, or just companionship. That is not selling yourself, but more selling your TIME. There’s a big difference there. You cannot be sold, but your time can be. Whether you work in retail or as a stripper, you get paid for the time you work. Some get more than others. Some days you walk away with more. But that is not your worth. That’s your TIMES worth. And really, we spend most of our TIME not making any money at all. We watch TV, sleep, play video games, whatever. So the fact that you get paid to do something, is quite wonderful. Some people don’t. But to summarize my original thought, no one sells themselves. They sell their time for ANY job, sexual or not.
